LeBron James makes plea for ESPN to release ‘The Last Dance’ documentary

NBA megastar LeBron James wants some new content in his life and ESPN are sitting on the goldmine.

After the NBA closed its door a little over two weeks ago following the positive coronavirus test of Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert, the players have found themselves in quarantine in their own homes.

James has regularly kept his followers up to date with how his days are unfolding, mainly with dancing videos containing the entire family.

But on Friday the Los Angeles Lakers superstar appeared on the Road Tripping podcast alongside Allie Clifton and former teammates Channing Frye and Richardson Jefferson.

The 53 minute episode was full of laughs and classic moments between the former teammates, but James turned serious at one point as he made a desperate plea to the higher ups at ESPN.

In late 2019, ESPN released the trailer for the upcoming 10-part documentary series labelled ‘The Last Dance’ which follows the Chicago Bulls throughout the entirety of Michael Jordan’s final season.

The documentary features never-before-seen footage from the 1997-98 championship season and includes interviews with Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Phil Jackson and other key members of the Bulls' dynasty.

With a release date originally slated for June 2, basketball fans have been begging for ESPN to release the documentary early in order to help with isolation and now James has jumped on board.

“If they release that thing right now, I’m telling you the viewers on that,” James said.

“If I’m Michael Jordan I’m going on a conference call and I’m like ‘what’s the reason we’re holding onto this until June?’”
