Meghan shows her real face in candid video

The first episode of Meghan and Harry’s Netflix series features a candid video of the Duchess wearing no makeup, as she cries about life with the royals.

The first three episodes of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s explosive Netflix series have dropped, and they show the Duchess as you’ve never seen her before.

Episode one opens with Meghan, barefaced and wearing a towel around her hair, crying about her treatment in the world’s most famous family.

“I don’t know where to being,” Meghan says, giving viewers a glimpse of her behind-the-scenes, away from the glamour of Hollywood, or her later royal life.

The video, which was shot in March 2020, shortly after the Sussexes announced their bombshell exit from the royal family.

In the clip, Meghan explains that she is back home in Canada, after attending her final engagements as a working royal, while Harry was still in the UK. She breaks down, as she reflects on the past few months of her life as a Duchess.

In an earlier video, Harry appears to be filming himself on his phone, at the same time.

“Hi. So we’re here on Wednesday the something of March,” he says. “We’ve just finished our two weeks, our like final push, our last stint of royal engagements.

“It’s really hard to look back on it now and go ‘what on earth happened’? Like, how did we end up here?’”

The first three episodes covered how the couple met, their early love story, their thoughts about the royal family as an institution, and numerous reflections on how unsafe they felt during their time in it. They also shared dozens of never-before-seen images.

Harry & Meghan is a six-part Netflix series directed by Oscar-nominee Liz Garbus. It is the flagship offering in the couple’s rumoured $183 million multi-year content deal with the steaming giant.

It’s a project that has been in the works for months, with two trailers being released in the past two weeks, both making headlines around the world.

Multiple reports suggest Harry and Meghan have been at odds with Netflix bosses in attempts to delay the show, following a chaotic period for the royal family, including the Queen’s death in September.

The couple are understood to have wanted to push the controversial TV series back to 2023 amid backlash over the new series of The Crown, which is chronicling the breakdown of Charles and Diana’s marriage.

It’s already courted controversy for the use of “fake” and “misleading” photos which have been exposed in detail, including one paparazzi picture taken from the Harry Potter premiere in 2011.

The first three episodes landed around the world on December 8. The next and final three will drop one week later on December 15.
