IT’S set to be one of the most anticipated sitcom finales since How I Met Your Mother.

But surprisingly Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady has made no plans about how the show will end, despite the pressure to go out with a bang (pun intended).

Prady told Us Weekly that the show’s sudden ending after 12 seasons was a “bittersweet” experience.

Revealing he had “not a clue” how Big Bang Theory would end, Prader explained the show’s final season would be treated like all the ones before it.

“We’re approaching the final season the same way we’ve approached the 11 seasons before: with no planning whatsoever,” he said.

“From day one, we have never planned an arch for a season. We don’t plan ahead, we just kind of just tell the next story.”

Last month the show’s creators confirmed the Big Bang Theory would be airing its last episode in May 2019.

Executive producer Chuck Lorre made the announcement to staff with no advance warning, Deadline Hollywood reported.

The show will air a record breaking 279 episodes, making it the longest running multi-camera TV series ever.

According to Entertainment Weekly, series star Jim Parsons (who plays Sheldon Cooper) was the catalyst for the show ending.

US network CBS reportedly wanted two more seasons of Big Bang Theory, but Parsons “was ready to say goodbye”.

Star Kaley Cuoco has revealed she is heartbroken over the decision for the show to end next year.

“No matter when it was going to end, my heart would have always been broken in two,” Cuoco wrote on Instagram. “Drowning in tears, we promise to bring you the best season yet.”
