Britney Spears on dating: ‘Being famous doesn't make you any different’

The Make Me singer, who says she’s been “single for ages” after a string of failed romances, has opened up about her disastrous dating life in the October edition of British Marie Claire, in which she’s stunning in a high fashion modern look.

“I had a really bad date. I mean, it was really bad,” the 34-year-old told the magazine.

“I’ve been single for ages and had a date with a guy I liked. I was getting anxious, worrying he wouldn’t like me. In the evening I got on the scales and I had lost six pounds. We went to the movies, but I could tell right away it wasn’t working. It was sort of awkward.”
Spears was obviously very disappointed by the outcome.

“It just didn’t work. He just wasn’t that into me. I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same,” she revealed.
Spears, who has previously dated singer Justin Timberlake, was married to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007.

She also wed her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004 but the marriage was quickly annulled.
Her string of failed romances appear to have taken their toll on her — she told Late Late Show host James Corden this week she’s “done with men” and never plans to marry again.

The pop icon also revealed to Marie Claire the best relationship she’s ever had has been with her sons, Sean, 10, and Jayden, nine.

Spears credits the boys with giving her more confidence.

“My boys don’t care if everything isn’t perfect, they don’t judge me,” she told the publication.

“If anything, when I’m all dressed up they aren’t happy because it usually means I’m going to work.”

She added: “I’ve been through a lot and I’ve got to this point where I’m feeling good about being single.”
