The US star is a spokesperson for Weight Watchers, despite her recent shrinking size not being entirely natural.

Oprah has been labelled a “hypocrite” on social media after revealing that she’s been using a weight loss drug.

The US chat show legend has come under fire after confirming that she takes a drug to help her manage her weight, despite having a long-running partnership with natural weight loss company WeightWatchers.

“I now use it as I feel I need it, as a tool to manage not yo-yoing,” she told People week. “The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for.”

However, her confession hasn’t gone down well with some fans on social media, with many lashing out at the star because she’s still an ambassador for WeightWatchers.

One tweeted: “Oprah is now using weight loss medication. So, Weight Watchers didn’t help Oprah after all.”

While another ranted: “What I don’t like about Oprah is she is clearly off them Ozempic shots, yet she pushing Weight Watchers”.

A third hit out at the star for not telling the whole truth, saying: “Done with the shaming but OK with lying?” while another blasted the star as a “hypocrite” for keeping her use of a weight loss drug quiet for so long.

The Color Purple star did not disclose exactly which drug she took or whether it was Type II diabetes medication Ozempic, which has become a favourite for many celebrities.

However, Winfrey, whose weight has fluctuated for years, revealed she became more open to turning to a pharmaceutical after conducting a panel discussion with medical experts in July.

The star had previously said that she believed turning to meds was taking the “easy way out”.

“I had the biggest ‘aha’ along with many people in that audience,” she recalled to People.

“I realised I’d been blaming myself all these years for being overweight, and I have a predisposition that no amount of willpower is going to control.”

The TV star said she is not yet at her goal weight of 160 pounds (72kg), though, but acknowledged that it ultimately is “not about the number.”
