AMID all the explosive fallout from Donald Trump’s latest scandal, the reaction of one very angry anti-Trump Republican stood out.

Ana Navarro, a Republican strategist and political commentator who has opposed Trump since he announced his candidacy last year, was in a towering temper when she appeared on CNN to analyse the leaked footage of him from 2005.

If you missed it yesterday, the video in question showed Trump discussing his attempts to bed a married woman, and bragging that he could “do anything” to women because he was a celebrity.

“When you’re a star, they let you do it. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything,” he said, among a few other vulgarities.

Navarro took part in several CNN panel segments in the hours after the story broke. During her first stint, she called for Trump to resign as her party’s nominee and passionately scolded the Republicans who have endorsed him.

“I think what Donald Trump needs to do is quit. I think he needs to stop being the Republican nominee. He is dragging the entire process down the gutter. He is dragging the Republican Party down the gutter,” she said.

"You have to understand, he cannot win. He is irredeemable. This is not something you can recover from. And the reason he cannot recover from this is because this is consistent behaviour from Donald Trump. This is not a one time occurrence.

"How many times does he get away with saying something misogynistic before we call him a misogynist? How many times does he get away with saying something sexist before we acknowledge that it is he who is a sexist?

"It is not enough for Republican leaders to disavow his comments, to condemn his words. It is time to condemn the man. It is time to ask him to step down. It is time to tell America he does not represent Republican values. He is a pig. He is vile. This is consistent behaviour by him. The only difference is that now we have it on tape and now we have it on video.

"This man is not fit to be president of the United States. He is not fit to be the Republican nominee. He is not fit to be called a man."
It was one hell of a speech. And a few moments later, Navarro got a chance to rip into Trump all over again.

“There is a minimum requirement of morality, of moral compass, of decency, of human empathy, of behaving like an adult, of behaving not like a sexual predator. And if you are incapable of meeting that minimum requirement, you can’t even talk to me about policy, because you’re not fit to be on that ballot," she said.

“It is time that not only Donald Trump thinks about what he is doing, but Republicans who have endorsed him, this is the time to disavow this man.
"If we are going to have a party that survives, we must disown Donald Trump.”

Navarro's work wasn't done there either. Later in the evening, she popped up on another panel and got into a confrontation with Trump supporter Scottie Nell Hughes, who objected to Navarro's use of the word “pussy” on television.

“If you choose to believe him, if you choose to make excuses for him, that’s your choice. That’s your choice,” Navarro said.

“My choice is to consider him a disgusting man who has consistently disgusted me from the first day of this campaign. And I think every single Republican is going to have to answer the question: ‘What did you do the day you saw the tape of this man boasting about grabbing a woman’s pussy?’ Period.”

“Will you please stop saying that word? My daughter is listening,” Hughes interjected - causing Navarro to lose her temper.

“Scottie, don’t tell me you’re offended when I say pussy, but you’re not offended when Donald Trump says it,” she fired back.

“I’m not running for president, he is. Don’t act outraged and offended when I say the word, but you’re not offended when the man who you’re supporting is saying it. That is just absurd.”

Navarro certainly wasn't alone in condemning Trump for his latest scandal, but it's hard to imagine anyone saying anything more scathing.
