Six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady finally revealed more about his tweet that sparked an NFL debate last week, but questions still remain.

He didn’t even play in the Super Bowl this year but New England Patriots legend Tom Brady has left fans on tenterhooks all week.

On Friday, Brady posted a black-and-white photo of him walking down the tunnel to what has now been revealed to be Gillette Stadium.

With the star seemingly set to enter free agency in March for the first time in his 20-year NFL career, fans are desperate to know where he’ll be for the 2020-21 season.

Will he stay in Boston, move elsewhere, or give up the game.

Could it have even been a cryptic tweet relating to Kobe Bryant’s death after the Lakers legend once filmed a commercial with a similar motif walking down a tunnel in a dark arena?

While ESPN’s Adam Schefter said the image was “not related to Tom Brady’s football future”, fans were not about to believe that.

A weekend of speculation, while not overshadowing the biggest game of the year, was definitely a talking point.

Even Brady tried to misdirect with the frankly weak excuse he told his teammates Devin and Jason McCourty, who tried to settle the rumours on Barstool Radio on Friday.

“He was like, ‘Everybody’s overreacting.’ He’s like, ‘It’s not is he going to stay, is he going to go?’ He was like, ‘Bro, I’m 42 years old, one of the oldest guys in the league, (and I) wanted to remind people that the best photos are in black and white’,” Devin said.

“That’s all its was, bro. Black and white. It’s a classic — like, I’m the classic Tom Brady, black and white, put it all together, I’m still out here doing it.”

That was far from satisfying.

But finally Brady put the NFL out of its misery during the Super Bowl and it was...something.

When the ad began to play, it appeared like he was about to announce his retirement.

“They say all good things must come to an end, that the best just know when to walk away,” Brady said. “So to my teammates, my family, and most of all, my fans, you deserve to hear this from me — Hulu doesn’t just have live sports.”
