The New York Post reports that this time, the short-attention-stricken singer appears to have palmed off his sick dog on a friend, who’s now trying to scrounge up $US8000 ($11,000) for a lifesaving operation for the puppy.

In August last year, Bieber proudly introduced his “new little fluff ball Todd” to his fans on Instagram. Later he posted a video of the preternaturally fluffy animal, wondering adoringly, “How are you real?”

However, the infatuation has passed. It seems that Bieber — who famously adopted and then dismissed a monkey, a hamster and a snake — has given the dog to one of his dancers, C.J. Salvador.

Actually, the person who won the auction to buy Bieber’s snake Johnson, Michael Kronick, slammed the singer at the time.

“I am a huge pet and animal lover and was amazed that Mr. Bieber would actually auction off his own personal pet,” he said. “I found it really disgusting that celebrities like Bieber would stoop to a level of using living creatures as a fashion accessory and then so easily discard it.”

Johnson is now on display the Reptile & Amphibian Discovery Zoo in Owatonna, Minnesota.

The news however gets worse for Todd the chow chow.

Salvador has created a GoFundMe page for the luckless pooch, explaining that the pup “is a 7-month-old chow chow born with a birth defect called ‘sever hip dysplasia.’ Long story short, by the time he turns 1, he won’t be able to walk, run, let alone play.”

Salvador says that Todd can either be put down or have a “very specialised surgery.”

“So I am humbly asking you to donate anything,” he writes. The fundraising goal of $US8000 has been met, and the count is now up to $US8246.

After this story was published online, Salvador wrote on Facebook that his family had “adopted” the dog and that he “did not ask [Bieber] for money because he has nothing to do with the situation,” because the defect had only been discovered after they took the dog in.

Sorry — Justin Bieber

Forbes estimates that Bieber made $US56 million in 2016.

A rep for Bieber didn’t return calls.
