She’s rarely been seen in front of fans without her trademark disguise for years — but Aussie singer Sia mixed things up this week.

For years she’s hidden her face behind heavy wigs during public appearances, but it seems Aussie-born singer Sia might be getting more comfortable in the limelight.

The Chandelier singer, 43, stepped out at the Fashion Los Angeles Awards this week looking every inch the pop star — and free from any wigs or disguises.

Inside the event, she delivered a speech on stage and posed with celeb friends including Kate Hudson:

It’s a far cry from the Sia most fans have grown accustomed to seeing in recent years — hiding her face under a wig, and with young protege Maddie Ziegler often in tow:

The Adelaide-born singer first donned the disguise before the release of her 2014 album 1000 Forms Of Fear, which would become the biggest success of her career to date.

Home to hits Chandelier and Elastic Heart, it turned Sia from cult favourite to household name — all while her identity was largely obscured from public view.

While the wig was a response to her discomfort with the pressures of fame, it was quickly embraced by fans.

“I’ve set up a model where I can age,” she told Rolling Stone last year. “You know, the wig never gets old.”

Sia’s next project is a collaborative album with British singer Labrinth and American producer Diplo, who together form the supergroup LSD, set for release next month. And wig-watchers: Her face is covered up once more:
