In her first TV interview in years, the singer opened up about the one thing she really wishes she hadn’t said publicly.

It’s water under the bridge for Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas.

In her first media interview in four years, the 29-year-old singer admitted to Ellen DeGeneres that she regrets blasting Joe Jonas on The Ellen DeGeneres Show after the two teens broke up in 2008.

“[The most rebellious thing I did as a teen was] probably when I put Joe Jonas on blast on your show,” an embarrassed Swift said. “That was too much.”

Swift and Jonas briefly dated in 2008. After the two broke up, Swift was not afraid to talk about the circumstances in public.

“It’s all right, I’m cool,” Swift told Ellen during an interview in 2008.

“When I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful. And when I look at that person, I won’t even be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18! It was a record, I think. I looked at the call log, I think it was like 27 seconds. That’s got to be a record!”

In typical Swift fashion, the heartbroken singer documented her feelings about Jonas with a song titled Forever and Always, which was released on her album Fearless, and even called him out during her SNL monologue back one year later.

“You might think I’d mention Joe, that guy who broke up with me on the phone, but I’m not gonna talk about him in my monologue,” she sang snarkily to a laughing audience. “Hey Joe, I’m doing real well, tonight I’m hosting SNL. But I’m not gonna brag about that, in my monologue.”

Jonas replied with a song of his own. Titled Much Better, he jabbed, “Now I’m done with superstars and all the tears on her guitar.”

The two have put the past behind them, it seems, as they can joke about their past drama as adults.

“We laugh about it now,” Swift told Ellen. “But that was mouthy. Just some teenage stuff there.”
