Why Nicole didn’t mention kids

NICOLE Kidman’s two children with Tom Cruise were left out of her Golden Globes speech. It’s not the first time. Here’s the reason

NICOLE Kidman has been accused of snubbing her eldest children after failing to mention them in her Golden Globes speech last night.

But perhaps there could be a heartbreaking reason why the actor doesn’t talk about them publicly, The Sun reports.

The Oscar winner spoke about her two youngest daughters on stage at the glittering ceremony, but fans were baffled as she left out her two adopted children from her marriage to Tom Cruise.

Kidman, 50, has two girls, Sunday, 9, and Faith, 7, with husband Keith Urban, and two adopted children, Connor, 22, and Isabella, 25, with her ex, Tom Cruise.

Although she talked about her youngest children in the speech, she did not mention the kids from her first marriage.

She said: “First cab off the rank, that means my daughters are still awake so Sunny, Faith, I love you. I’m bringing this home to you babies.”

Fans fumed about her omission on Twitter, with many accusing the screen star of acting like she only has two children.

It came just months after she made a similar speech at the Emmy Awards in September, again only mentioning her youngest offspring.

However, there is speculation that there’s a tragic reason behind her inability to talk about Connor and Isabella, and reports suggest it’s linked to her divorce from the Hollywood superstar.

Cruise is the most high-profile member of the Church of Scientology, and both Connor and Isabella are believed to have been brought up in the faith.

Reports have stated that when the Hollywood couple divorced in 2001, it split the family apart.

The kids stayed with the Top Gun actor and are said to have remained as members of the church.

Multiple reports suggest that when a Scientologist leaves, they are often cut off from their families and labelled a “suppressive person” or “SP”.

Actor Leah Remini, 45, who left Scientology in 2013 after 30 years as a member, reiterated the allegation in her book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood And Scientology.

Nicole left the church before her, and Leah stated that the movie star had been declared an “SP”.

Remini, whose claims were denied by church leaders, wrote: “While I stared at the dark ceiling at night, unable to sleep, I would say to myself, ‘Remember Nicole Kidman’.

“She was declared an SP and left the church, and she’s doing okay. Her career is still going, and she has a husband and family … Just remember Nicole Kidman. She left and she’s okay …”

Kidman has refused to talk about the religion or her family ties in recent years, but she is said to have been absent from many of her kids’ life events including Isabella’s wedding in London in 2015.

The closest she has come to talking about her reported estrangement from the kids was when she was promoting her film Lion in 2016.

She addressed her relationship with her adopted children in an interview with Town & Country magazine.

Kidman said: “I can see now, for Lion, that it was important to me because I’m a mother with adopted children ...

“This movie is a love letter to my children.”

In the film, she plays a mother whose adoptive son goes looking for his biological mum.

After the end of her 11-year marriage to Cruise, Kidman tied the knot again with country singer Urban in 2006.
