Sasha Obama stuns in fitted black gown for high school prom

She was just seven when her dad made history as America’s first black president. Now new photos of Sasha have emerged and fans are losing it.

Sasha Obama was just seven years old when her dad became the president of the United States.

Fast forward 10 years, and the youngest child of Barack Obama is officially all grown up.

Photos of the former first daughter surfaced online over the weekend as the 17-year-old posed ahead of her prom.

In them, Sasha beams for the camera in a satin black dress, standing proudly alongside her date for the milestone school event.

She teamed her simple gown with a pair of gold hoops and a matching chain, sleeking back her hair and wearing it off her shoulders.

Her date, Chris Milton, looks dapper in his tuxedo suit for the Washington event. The pair will graduate from Sidwell Friends High School next month.

Naturally, social media users are loving Sasha’s transformation, going from the adorable young girl who used to clutch her powerful dad’s hand at public events to an “elegant” young woman.

Some social media users called Sasha’s date “brave” after her father’s tongue-in-cheek comments about his daughters’ prospective partners in 2016.

“But fo real this is the ‘Bravest Man’ in the world! Imagine trying to date Obama’s daughter with Secret Service watching your every move,” one person wrote.

Another highlighted someone in the background they believed to be a bodyguard.

The photos went viral and began trending on Twitter after they were shared — and later deleted — by someone who is purportedly the older cousin of Sasha’s date, along with the caption, “When your lil cousin take Sasha Obama to prom”.

Former first lady Michelle Obama and her eldest daughter Malia were there to send off Sasha for her big night, but the former president was not seen in any of the pics.

In December, it was rumoured Sasha might be headed to the University of Michigan after graduating in June.

The Obamas stayed in Washington DC following the end of Barack’s second term as president so Sasha could finish high school at the prominent Sidwell Friends school.

Barack previously issued a warning to any guys seeking to date his daughters, jokingly reminding them the girls “have Secret Service” details and “there’s only so much they can do” with trained killers just metres away.
