Sophie Turner has revealed a private letter written by her estranged husband Joe Jonas just before their split, which brings his statements undone.

Sophie Turner has escalated the ongoing divorce battle with her estranged husband Joe Jonas by revealing a private letter which brings his previous statements into question.

The Game of Thrones actress, 27, and the US pop singer, 34, are embroiled in messy custody dispute over their two children, daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1, following their shock split earlier this month. They were married for four years.

Turner, who hails from the UK, previously accused Jonas of withholding their girls’ passports in New York so she wasn’t able to take them to their “forever home” in England.

She argued the couple had earlier decided their daughters would be raised in England, while Jonas claimed he thought they would be brought up between the US and the UK.

Now, just one day after Turner’s alleged Ring camera comments about Jonas were leaked to the press, Turner has exposed a letter her ex-husband wrote on June 16 – less than three months before he filed for divorce – confirming their combined decision to raise their daughters in England.

The letter was written by Jonas to a homeowner in a bid to secure an $11.6 million property in Wallingford, Oxford.

“While many of the houses we viewed met this criteria, the moment we turned the corner and caught sight of the charming blue shutters adorning [redacted], we experienced a sense of magic unlike anything we had felt before,” Jonas allegedly penned in the private letter, which was revealed in court documents obtained by Page Six.

“I have been completely charmed by the idea of dropping my children to school on the boat and being able to spend a leisurely afternoon cruising to the pub with friends on my very own boat.”

He added, “My father-in-law [Turner’s dad] is an incredibly keen gardener, and he was suitably impressed by your vegetable garden too, a very important sign off!

“We could tell that your family have truly loved living here and we can envision our children growing up here and making this our forever home,” he added before concluding, “I really think Sophie and I will be able to look after [redacted names] and for many years pay homage to the magic you have created here.”

The seller ultimately accepted the offer and the former couple put down a 10 per cent deposit on July 7, with the sale listed to be finalised in December this year. However, the sale is currently in escrow, meaning funds are being held by a third party.

In the documents, Turner claimed the family’s relocation to England has been a long-time coming, alleging she and Jonas spoke in late 2022 and agreed to move to her homeland.

Further, Turner and Jonas sold their $15 million marital home in Miami, Florida in August, having listed it for sale in March.

Turner alleged the family’s belongings were then “shipped” to the UK between May 5 and July 31.

Turner is seeking to have the divorce case tossed, which Jonas filed in Miami September 6, arguing the pair are no longer residents and thus the city’s court should not have jurisdiction over the matter.

She also confirmed she was living in New York in “temporary accommodation” – understood to be an apartment loaned by Taylor Swift – with their two children currently “in her care”.

Turner sued Jonas last week, claiming he was refusing to let their children leave New York for the UK.

Jonas’ lawyer swiftly hit back, denying the pop star was “abducting” their daughters.

“Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting this past Sunday in New York, when Sophie came to New York to be with the kids. They have been with her since that meeting. Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting set up,” Jonas’ lawyer stated.

“Less than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK. Thereafter, she demanded via this filing that Joe hand over the children’s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately. If he complies, Joe will be in violation of the Florida Court order.

“This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not abducted. After being in Joe’s care for the past three months at the agreement of both parties, the children are currently with their mother. Sophie is making this claim only to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and to remove the children from the U.S. permanently.”

Days after Turner’s lawsuit, the duo came to an agreement to have their daughters remain in New York while legal proceedings take place.

They signed an interim consent order that prohibits both of them from removing their kids from the state.

They’re scheduled to appear for a pre-trial conference on October 3.
