“Oh boy, this one cut deep”: The actress shared a devastating post about her Friends co-star Matthew Perry, including a screenshot of their texts.

Jennifer Aniston has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her Friends co-star Matthew Perry following his tragic death at the age of 54.

“Oh boy this one has cut deep … Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before,” the Morning Wars star, 54, began her post.

“We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply.”

Aniston went on to describe her Friends castmates, including Perry, as her “chosen family”.

“For Matty, he KNEW he loved to make people laugh. As he said himself, if he didn’t hear the ‘laugh’ he thought he was going to die,” she posted.

“His life literally depended on it. And boy did he succeed in doing just that. He made all of us laugh. And laugh hard.”

Aniston wrapped up the tribute by sharing details of text conversations she’d had with Perry, admitting she’s been “laughing and crying and then laughing again.”

“Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain,” she wrote.

Perry became a household name playing the popular - and very sarcastic - Chandler Bing on Friends, which aired between 1994 and 2004.

A private funeral was held in Los Angeles for him earlier this month following his tragic death on October 28 in an apparent drowning.

An assistant discovered him underwater in his hot tub and called emergency services, but the actor was unresponsive before they arrived.

Perry’s autopsy is reportedly finished, but a coroner has ordered further investigation, including a toxicology test, which may take months.

Three days after his shock death, the “devastated” Friends cast released a heart-wrenching joint statement to People about their beloved pal.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” their statement read.

“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”

“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

The message was then signed by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

On Wednesday, Schwimmer joined Aniston in sharing his own personal memories with Perry.

The People v. O.J. Simpson star posted a throwback photo on set with the late actor.

“Matty, Thank you for ten incredible years of laughter and creativity,” Schwimmer captioned the picture.

“I will never forget your impeccable comic timing and delivery.

“You could take a straight line of dialogue and bend it to your will, resulting in something so entirely original and unexpectedly funny it still astonishes,” he continued.

“And you had heart. Which you were generous with, and shared with us, so we could create a family out of six strangers.”

The actor added that looking back on “one of his favourite moments” with Perry made him “smile and grieve at the same time.”

Schwimmer then finished up with: “I imagine you up there, somewhere, in the same white suit, hands in your pockets, looking around — ‘Could there BE any more clouds?’”

Kudrow also followed suit, thanking Perry for his friendship and for being “completely brilliant”.

“Shot the pilot, Friends Like Us, got picked up then immediately, we were at the NBC Upfronts,” she began her post, which included an image of the two from the early days of the show.

“Then … You suggested we play poker AND made it so much fun while we initially bonded. Thank you for that … Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said, that my muscles ached, and tears poured down my face EVERY DAY.

“Thank you for your open heart in a six way relationship that required compromise. And a lot of ‘talking.’

Kudrow then acknowledged Perry’s well-documented struggles: “Thank you for showing up at work when you weren’t well and then, being completely brilliant.”

The three Friends castmates’ tributes comes a day after Matt LeBlanc and Courteney Cox took to Instagram with their own personal memories of Perry.

“It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favourite times of my life,” LeBlanc said in a note addressed to “Matthew”, alongside a series of images.

“It was an honour to share the stage with you and to call you my friend.”

The actor added that he’ll “always smile” when thinking of Perry.

“I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love.”

LeBlanc then ended the emotional post with a joke: “And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

A short time later, Courteney Cox also took to Instagram to share her own personal message to Perry.

“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day,” she wrote, alongside a video of their characters, Chandler and Monica, on the night their friendship turned romantic in London.

“When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now here’s one of my favorites.

“To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story.

“In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”
