A real fan wouldn’t respond by expressing joy over potential new music.

Sad news or someone’s heartache should never excite anyone. For example, Adele fans are excited for her next album now that she and her husband, Simon Konecki, have separated after three years of marriage and more than seven years together. The former couple also has a son together, Angelo, who was born in October 2012. On April 19, the singer’s reps issued the following statement to the Associated Press: “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”

That’s right, some fans are overjoyed at the news because they think Adele will now produce more unforgettable music that they can cry to. Rather than sending her sincere condolences during what has to be an extremely difficult time for the singer and her family, all some fans can think about is how she could possibly channel her emotions into a new album.

First of all, Adele hasn’t even stated that she’s recording a new album, but fans are just assuming she’s going to now that she and Konecki are sadly going their separate ways. On March 28, People did report that the “Hello” singer had been spotted going into a New York City recording studio. But, again, new music from the Grammy-winning singer hasn’t been confirmed or denied.

Whether or not Adele truly is working on another album doesn’t matter. What does is the fact that some fans are rejoicing at her divorce news. There are some individuals who truly believe that whatever new music Adele releases next will be even better — and all thanks to she and Konecki ending their marriage.

Here are just a few of the many happy tweets circulating across Twitter:

How disgusting is that, right? Rather than rooting for new music, fans should be sending Adele love and worried about her mental health. A real fan wouldn’t respond by expressing joy over potential new music.

Thankfully, there are some individuals who are coming to Adele’s defense, including Questlove from The Roots:

Adele previously made it clear how much Konecki and her son mean to her, which is something fans should keep in mind. Like she told Vanity Fair in the December 2016 issue, “All of my relationships are more important to me than any tour I’ll ever do. If my relationship with Simon or my relationship with Angelo started to flounder a bit now, I would pull out of my tour,” she admitted. “My life is more important to me than anything I’m doing because how the f*ck am I supposed to write a record if I don’t have a life? If I don’t have a real life, then it’s game over anyway.”

Understandably, her life and love ones are what’s the most important to the singer. So rather than thinking about how heartbreaking her next album might be, fans really should be sending immense amounts of love Adele’s way. Right now, the singer doesn’t need people anticipating new music or its greatness, but she does need warm thoughts and well wishes during what is most likely an extremely difficult time.
