Suspicious packages sent to Time Warner Center, Clinton and Obama

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump pledged Wednesday to "get to the bottom" of the suspicious packages sent to former President Barack Obama, election opponent Hillary Clinton, and CNN, and said the nation must unify to meet the threat of political violence.

“I just want to tell you that in these times, we have to unify, we have to come together and send one very strong and unmistakable message that acts of violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America," Trump said before signing opioid abuse legislation during a ceremony at the White House.

As federal and local law enforcement agencies investigated, some Democrats noted that the intended victims have all been the subject of harsh attacks by Trump on the campaign trail.

Pointing out that Trump is scheduled to host a political rally in the evening, former Obama political adviser David Axelrod tweeted: "What tone will @realDonaldTrump take tonight at his rally in Wisconsin, given the serial bombs that were delivered to several of his favorite verbal targets?"
